Digital Detox Day in Sacramento

Starting Saturday January 11th at The Clara Midtown

Limited spaces available for this free event, pre-registration required at this Eventbrite link

What: Retreat to connect in community and take a break for a single day from our phones and other digital technologies.

Why: Do you find yourself using your phone, Internet, social media, or other digital technologies far more than you intend? If yes, you are not alone. Our attachment to our digital technologies is an increasing concern in our lives. Taking a 24-hour break from our phones isn’t easy to do alone, so think of this as a collective effort where we “digital detox” with the support of this community to help each of us explore why we are so attached, how we can shift our habits, and why this can improve our relationship with ourselves and others. This community digital detox will be especially meaningful after the busy winter holiday season and is a timely way to kick off your new year with a fresh reset!

Where: The Clara Midtown, 1425 24th St, Sacramento, CA 95816 (Same classroom where Yoga Moves Us holds yoga on Sundays)

When:

Opening circle on Saturday, January 11, 9:00am - 11:30am:

Kirsten Johnson will help us ground with a short session of gentle yoga. Then we’ll kick off our digital detox officially with an opening circle led by Steve Chan to set and discuss our intentions for the digital detox day with a few helpful exercises. After our opening circle wraps up shortly after 11am, we’ll invite you for other optional group activities to connect and deepen your digital detox such as the following: mindful walking in a nearby park, coffee & connection at Season cafe at the Clara, etc.

& Closing circle on Sunday January 12, 9:00am - 11:30am:

Michelle Webb will hold a soothing sound bath to ground us as we wrap up our 24-hour detox.  Then we will hold a closing circle to share and reflect as a group on our digital detox day experience.
